A childhood memory became a game of its own.
Footballec was not born in an agency or as an anonymous catalogue product. The idea grew from the memory of a handmade tabletop football game from childhood, a real connection to football and the wish to rethink football on the table.
Today, it stands as a strategic tabletop football game with its own logic, its own character and a development shaped through sketches, prototypes and many practical decisions.
It started at a family table.
As a child, Pavel Omelka grew up with board and table games played at home with the whole family. Among them was a tabletop football game that his father had invented, built and equipped with rules himself.
That memory stayed. Years later, it became one of the emotional foundations of Footballec.
The idea came at a time when simply watching was not enough.
During the difficult Covid period came the moment when sport was not supposed to be only consumed, but experienced actively again. From that feeling came a simple but powerful question: why not build a football game of our own for the table?
From there came drawings, prototypes, detours and many practical decisions until an idea became a functioning game.
Layer by layer refined
The first models were made from paper, wooden strips and small modelling materials. With every attempt it became clearer what had to work: field, movement, figures, rules, proportions and the game idea itself.
Footballec is teamwork
Alongside Pavel, the project also includes technologist Martin Kurečka and designer Radim Černý. This mixture of technology, design and persistence helped turn the first draft into a real product.
More than just hitting the ball
Behind Footballec lies not only the wish to build something of your own, but also a a real connection to football. That is why the game is not just about a quick finish, but also about setup, space, timing, passing and decision-making.
Not only entertainment. Also tactics.
Every figure is played individually. Every move changes the field. That is exactly where the difference lies: Footballec is not a classic foosball table and not mere decoration, but a tabletop football game of its own with strategy, precision and a real sense of duel.
The idea is bigger than a single game.
Footballec should be a game that is understood quickly, stays exciting for a long time and brings people together around one table. Not through a screen, but face to face.
It also carries the hope for long series, small tournaments, shared game nights and a form of competition that is exciting without becoming hectic.
In the end, it is not only about a product. It is about a game with character — and about the good feeling of having created something of your own that lasts.
